Our corporate values – Expertise, Professionalism, Integrity, and Cost-effectiveness – are the foundation of our company and define who we are. They guide how we compete in the marketplace and how we behave as a corporate citizen. Our adherence to these values has earned us a reputation amongst our customers of which we can be proud. Along with these values, CareerQuest’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct outlines the manner in which we choose to do business and reflects the beliefs, priorities, and principles that we uphold. All employees and consultants are responsible for complying with this code and its associated corporate policies in a way that reinforces our reputation as a company that is fair, honest, and just in its dealings with all stakeholders.
Compliance with Laws
CareerQuest is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations in the jurisdictions in which we operate. If it is not possible for us to participate successfully in any business segment while complying with this policy, we will not participate in that business segment.
Respect in the Workplace
CareerQuest recognizes a shared responsibility on behalf of all employees and business partners to conduct themselves in a manner that avoids any demeaning, offensive, harassing, or discriminatory behaviour. We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities and treatment of all stakeholders that is free of discrimination and is in keeping with all applicable Canadian human rights laws.
Health & Safety
CareerQuest is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for our employees, clients, contractors, suppliers, and other business partners. We will meet or exceed applicable government codes, standards, and regulations in all jurisdictions in which we do business.
Competition
CareerQuest appreciates how important it is to clients and society in general that companies compete fairly and ethically. Although we compete aggressively, we do so with integrity. We comply with the competition and anti-trust laws of the jurisdictions in which we do business, and do not collude with competitors to fix prices, divide markets or restrict services. CareerQuest employees will not slander competitors or their products, improperly seek competitor information or attempt to influence customers, suppliers, or industry regulators illegally.
Conflicts of Interest
CareerQuest employees must conduct their business affairs in the company’s best interests by dealing with clients, suppliers, contractors, competitors, existing and potential business partners, and other CareerQuest employees in a manner that avoids real, perceived or potential conflicts of interest.
Fair Dealings
CareerQuest will deal fairly with its clients, suppliers, competitors, and employees. We will not take unfair advantage of anyone through manipulation, concealment, abuse of privileged information, misrepresentation of material facts or any other unfair-dealing practice.
Ethical Business Conduct
CareerQuest acts honestly and with integrity in all interactions with clients, competitors, suppliers, potential business partners, and government officials. Our objective is to compete on the basis of superior services and competitive prices, and we exercise good business judgment in extending business courtesies. No employee of CareerQuest shall offer or accept a bribe, favour or "kickback" directly or indirectly for the purpose of securing business transactions or to obtain any other favourable action. The payment of normal discounts, commissions, fees, sales promotion activity, entertainment, and other customary courtesies in the ordinary course of business is permissible so long as they have been authorized and properly recorded.
Gifts & Entertainment
Employees of CareerQuest will only accept or offer gifts, entertainment, and personal favours that are of an insubstantial value and that are consistent with customary business practice. No employee shall accept or offer any gift, entertainment or personal favour which might reasonably be believed to have any influence on business transactions. Gifts which do not meet the above criteria must be reported to CareerQuest management who will determine how they shall be dealt with.
Appropriate business entertainment occurring in connection with business discussions or the development of business relationships by authorized employees is generally deemed appropriate in the conduct of company business. No employee of CareerQuest shall make or accept an offer of entertainment unless the offer is within the bounds of accepted business hospitality. Entertainment in any form that would likely result in a feeling or expectation of personal obligation will not be extended or accepted. If a client, supplier, potential business partner, or government agency has adopted a more stringent policy than CareerQuest’s regarding gifts and entertainment, then we will comply with that more stringent policy when dealing with that person or entity.
Confidential Information
CareerQuest employees will preserve the confidentiality of information entrusted to them by the company and its customers, except when disclosure is permitted pursuant to approved business relationships or is legally required. CareerQuest employees must also not use or disclose to the company any proprietary information of any former employer or other person or entity with whom obligations of confidentiality exist.
Privacy of Personal Information
CareerQuest takes its responsibilities with regards to protecting the privacy of personal information seriously and has established a Privacy Policy to govern how we deal with personal information in our possession. CareerQuest employees will adhere to the policy and all applicable privacy laws and regulations. Please see our Privacy Policy for full details.
