Gina joined CareerQuest Inc. in April 2007 as a Vocational Rehabilitation Services Manager after more than a decade of working in the areas of vocational rehabilitation and disability management. Gina began her career in the industry as a psychometrist/vocational consultant with Lacroix, Scher Consultants. In this role, Gina became familiar with various rehabilitation practices and developed strong skills related to assessment while conducting vocational, psychological, psycho-vocational, neuro-psychological, and academic evaluations.
After two years in this role, Gina accepted a position with Concentra Integrated Services, Inc., where she worked for five years as a rehabilitation consultant/case manager for clients taking part in WSIB’s Labour Market Re-Entry (LMR) Program. Over the next several years, Gina continued to develop her skills in the areas of vocational rehabilitation and disability management while working for Manulife Financial (disability claims) and CNIB (human resources specialist in the area of disability management), and as an independent psychometrist/vocational consultant. Gina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from McMaster University.
Pina joined CareerQuest Inc. in May 2008 after seventeen years of working in the areas of vocational rehabilitation and disability management.
Pina received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Carleton University; after working for a year as a residential counselor with Canadian Mental Health Association, she accepted a position with the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) as a vocational rehabilitation caseworker. In this role, Pina became familiar with various rehabilitation practices and developed strong skills related to developing and monitoring early and safe return to work plans, general vocational rehabilitation assessments, transferable skills analysis, job search training, and developing and monitoring vocational rehabilitation plans. This role provided a solid foundation of experience for work with adults who had suffered physical, cognitive, and psychological impairment. After almost eight years there, Pina accepted a position with Concentra Integrated Services, Inc., where she worked for seven years as a vocational rehabilitation consultant/case manager. In this role, she assisted clients who were referred as part of WSIB’s Labour Market Re-Entry Program, clients who were receiving employment support through the Ontario Disability Supports Program (ODSP), and clients receiving long-term disability benefits and services. That position allowed Pina to continue to develop her skills in the areas of vocational rehabilitation and disability management; she also gained supervisory experience there while overseeing a team of rehabilitation consultants and employment specialists. Pina subsequently spent approximately 2 years with Sibley & Associates Inc. as a vocational rehabilitation consultant/case manager.
Pina is very excited to be working as part of the team at CareerQuest, where she is able to apply her various skills and experiences in her role as one of the organization’s vocational rehabilitation services managers.
